DESCRIPTION:FOR A REPORT OF THIS MEETING SEE “NEWS” \n50 years of the Wandsworth Society. So we will hear about planning and environment\, the newsletters and Bedsides\, the fun and the soirees. This will be a tightly structured session so we hope to see no rambling on but there will be time for the audience to participate. \nThe meeting will be in our usual indoor venue\, with seating spaced out as much as we can. We also hope to offer a Zoom stream with an opportunity for participants at home to take part in questioning the speakers and commenting on content (or even questioning our memories!). The Zoom link will be circulated to members in due course.

SUMMARY:May Meeting - CANCELLED
DESCRIPTION:There will be no meeting in May due to Coronavirus. \nWe hope very much to re-arrange the talk planned for our contribution to the now cancelled Wandsworth Arts Fringe. We were to welcome local art historian\, artist and lecturer\, Julia Jane Heckles MA\, who was to talk about William Morris and The Arts and Crafts Movement. The movement set up their textile workshops at Merton Abbey Mills on the River Wandle and are an important part of local heritage. William Morris led the Arts and Crafts Movement which has had such a huge influence on the decorative arts.
