Wandsworth Society February Meeting – The Huguenots and Wandsworth

Our speaker will be Tim Kidd, a City of London Blue Badge guide, from the charity Huguenots of Spitalfields whose remit is education and heritage, to communicate Huguenot culture and their achievements. He will tell us  about who the Huguenots are, why they left France, persecution, emigration, assimilation, famous Huguenots, their achievements and their legacies. We hope to better understand about the Huguenots that lived in Wandsworth, the skills they brought and the way that Wandsworth’s heavily industrialised past is reflected in today’s town.
