Lifeboats on the River Thames.
Wayne Bellamy, Station Manager supporting Teddington and Chiswick stations, will speak about the role of Lifeboats on the tidal stretch of the Thames.
RNLI lifeboats have been operating on the Thames since 2 January 2002 from lifeboat stations at Chiswick, Gravesend, Teddington and the Tower. They were established following the Marchioness disaster in 1989 when 51 people lost their lives and are now among the busiest of all UK stations.
