Together on Climate Change

Wandsworth Council are holding a Climate Summit with six virtual sessions with representatives of the Council, residents, community groups and organisations to discussing key issues surrounding climate change in the borough. These will be held on Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 November 2020 covering topics including recycling and waste, green space, how to ‘green’ your home and how to get involved. People’s Question Time for Wandsworth on 11 March

There will be an opportunity to question the London Mayor Sadiq Kahn and members of the London Assembly at Battersea Arts Centre on Wednesday 11 March. The session starts at 7pm and will be chaired by our Assembly Member Leonie Cooper.

Tours around the Ram Brewery

Brewery and Stable Tours are now being offered around the former Youngs Brewery, now the Ram Quarter. There is an the opportunity to dig deeper into the heritage of the iconic buildings on a guided tour led by John Hatch, brewer and raconteur extraordinaire.

Visitors will be taken behind the scenes for a journey through the London landmark, including the old stables where the Shire horses used to be kept and the nanobrewery itself.

Brewery tours will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays starting at 2.30pm and lasting just under an hour. Cost is £15 adults; £5 children. To book Book online here: https://bit.ly/2DUg4h4

Talk on Regeneration of the Wandle

On Thursday 6 February Jess Mead, project officer at the South East Rivers Trust, will be talking to the Wandsworth Common WI about the regeneration of the River Wandle , the issues the river faces and what we can do to help. From managing invasive species like Himalayan Balsam to bringing back trout and eels, the Trust has done a lot to turnaround a polluted industrial waterway and turn it into a thriving ecosystem.  7.30pm meeting in the Vestry Hall, Wiseton Road, SW17 7EE. £5. The WI is a women only organisation.
