Talk on Regeneration of the Wandle

On Thursday 6 February Jess Mead, project officer at the South East Rivers Trust, will be talking to the Wandsworth Common WI about the regeneration of the River Wandle , the issues the river faces and what we can do to help. From managing invasive species like Himalayan Balsam to bringing back trout and eels, the Trust has done a lot to turnaround a polluted industrial waterway and turn it into a thriving ecosystem.  7.30pm meeting in the Vestry Hall, Wiseton Road, SW17 7EE. £5. The WI is a women only organisation.

Putney Society’s Constituency Hustings

The Putney Society has arranged a general election hustings for Tuesday 3rd December at 7.30pm in the Community Church, Werter Road (opposite Sainsbury’s). All parliamentary candidates for the Putney, Roehampton and Southfields constituency will be invited to join us and the following have already accepted: – Will Sweet (Conservative) – Fleur Anderson (Labour) – Sue Wixley (Liberal Democrats) – Teixeira Hambro (Brexit Party) – Fergal McEntee from the Green Party. Should more candidates put their names forward before the Nov 14th deadline then they will be invited. The format will allow each candidate to speak for 5 minutes and then take questions for another 5 minutes. There will be an opportunity for members of the audience to meet the candidates after the hustings. All are welcome. The Putney Society is non-political organisation and is a registered charity.
