The council is preparing a masterplan for a large area of industrial land north of Armoury Way and along the Wandle Delta.
The masterplan will be adopted as a Supplementary Planning Document to produce a guide to future development and investment. In order to better understand the wishes and priorities of locals the council are holding two information and feedback sessions. These sessions will be at:Wandsworth Civic Suite, Wandsworth High Street, February 20, 5.30pm – 8.30pm ans in Southside Shopping Centre, next to Waitrose entrance, February 22, 10am -2pm.
L&G have acquired both sites on Swandon Way which have planning permission between them for around 1,000 homes. The developers will be holding two days of public exhibitions to launch the proposal at the Brewers Inn (at the bottom of East Hill) on Thursday 25 July 5pm-9pm and Saturday 27 July 10am -2pm
In 2017 an application was made for this mainly residential tower in the town centre on a small site between “Pocket Living” and Garratt Lane, and alongside the Wandle. The application – with subsequent minor amendments – is now close to being determined. With large petitions from resident groups and over a hundred individual objections, including those from the Wandsworth Society and the MP, the outcome looks interesting. Yet another new residential tower in Wandsworth Town Centre? Or power to the people? Wandsworth Council application 2017/0535.
