Building of the Thames Tideway tunnel kicks off in Central Wandsworth

Charlotte, the tunnel boring machine, started digging the Frogmore Connection Tunnel on 26 March. When the project is complete in 2024, the 1.1km tunnel will take sewage overflows from King George’s Park into the main 25km Thames Tideway Tunnel at Fulham, where it will be transferred to east London for treatment. Public consultation on a co-living proposal for Trewint Street, Earlsfield

The Collective has launched public consultation with neighbours on a proposal for a co-living housing development on the car auction site. It comprises three blocks, of up to eight storeys, providing 292 studio rooms for rent comparable to a student hall of residence, with common spaces, a cafe and improvements to the Wandle riverbank. Visit to Langdon Down Centre and historic Normansfield Theatre

On Monday 18 March a group of 20 members enjoyed a fascinating visit to the museum and Victorian theatre. Visits can be made on one Saturday per month 10am-5pm (13 April, 18 May, 22 June, 20 July). AGM 2019

A strong turn out was present to re-elect the Chair and Executive who all agreed to stand again. The Treasurer was please to tell us that there had been an annual surplus in the 2018/19 year of £1,299 and that reserves stand at some £16,000. The AGM was followed by a fascinating illustrated talk by Iain Gray on follies.
